Video-Recap of the newsest Devblog #55 by SaphirCeratosaurus (The Isle News Updates)

Gameplay and Mechanics Updates

Lead Programmer Filipe has been refining core systems:

  • The Allosaurus' main ability is being fine-tuned with custom animations, and will soon enter QA testing.
  • Tyrannosaurus balancing updates are in progress, introducing additional mechanics to improve movement and hunting dynamics across different life stages.
  • Migration and Patrol Zones can now have custom shapes, improving biome accuracy and better integrating plant spawns into the world.
  • Friend Spawn Codes are in QA testing, allowing players to spawn near friends without disrupting the game’s random spawning system.

Animation and Dinosaurs

Animator Bryan has been hard at work on:

  • Gore morphs for upcoming dinosaurs, ensuring realistic damage visuals.
  • Elder morphs, allowing players to recreate aging dinosaurs.
  • Kentrosaurus animations are in progress, while Baryonyx rigging has begun.

Environmental Improvements

Environmental Artist VisualTech48 is working on:

  • Final assets for GUTS (Ground Utility and Transport System).
  • New coastal kits to enhance shorelines.
  • Improved enclosure fences, including inward and outward angled fencing.
  • A massive holding pen for sauropods, nearly twice the size of the Dockyard Transportation Area.

Bug Fixes and Quality Assurance

QA Lead Hypno has been reviewing over 600 community bug reports, with major fixes including:

  • Plants causing input lockups and disappearing despite being scentable.
  • Persistent rain sounds even in clear weather.
  • Audio choppiness and DLSS screen tearing.
  • Omniraptors being kicked off after pouncing (now fixed!).
  • Fish AI not spawning properly in some areas.

The new Spawn Code System is in testing, enabling players to spawn near friends:

  1. A player joins a server, selects a species, and generates a unique spawn code.
  2. Friends can enter this code and, after approval, spawn near the sender.

  • Work on Elder mechanics, spawn codes, and movement updates is progressing.
  • Some shelved dinosaur abilities are being revisited, such as Hypsilophodon’s treetop movement and Herrerasaurus’ climbing dynamics.
  • The Rex, Triceratops, Allosaurus, Austro, and Kentrosaurus are nearly ready for testing.
  • The Baryonyx is next in line for animation and mechanical implementation.
  • A Horde Test is coming soon, featuring numerous gameplay improvements.
