Carnivore AI, trampleable, dynamic grass, the T-Rex - a new video by Dondi and Amarok encourages that 2025 could be a big year for The Isle. In it, they show off the new T-Rex as well as the Triceratops. The new AI behavior of dinosaurs also looks really good and realistic. But as always, there is no concrete information on when what is actually coming. But watch the following video for yourself and make your own judgment as to whether this new information and promises could be the breakthrough.

The year 2025 has begun, and fans of the dinosaur survival game "The Isle" are speculating about upcoming updates. Although there have been no official announcements from the developers yet, the roadmap so far and developer quotes in the official Discord offer some exciting guesses as to what we can expect in 2025. Here are the highlights:

New dinosaurs: Kentrosaurus, Triceratops and T-Rex are waiting in the wings

With the recent release of the Majasaura, "The Isle" has recently expanded its dinosaur roster. According to the Living Roadmap, further candidates are in focus for 2025:

  • Triceratops and Tyrannosaurus Rex: Both dinosaurs have been featured heavily in developer blogs and animation teasers. Their release seems to be getting closer.
  • Allosaurus and Austroraptor: According to developers and teasers, these dinosaurs are also showing significant progress. The Austroraptor in particular, a semi-aquatic predator, has received many animations.
  • Kentrosaurus: While this one is less developed, there is a possibility that it will be introduced in 2025 to fill the void of the Stegosaurus, which is to be removed from official servers.

Improvements to existing dinosaurs

The developers are also planning to update existing dinosaurs. The focus is on:

  • Pteranodon: Changes have already been announced.
  • Troodon: The community has pointed out gameplay problems that are to be addressed.

New AI creatures as a food source for baby dinosaurs

in 2025, a variety of new AI-controlled creatures will be added to the game, including grasshoppers (see image), rats, dragonflies and lizards. These will serve as hunting training and food sources for young dinosaurs in particular.

The Elder System

A new system for older dinosaurs has already been developed and tested. Screenshots show models of older variants of existing dinosaurs such as Carnotaurus and Kentrosaurus. This system is intended to offer players more long-term gameplay options and close the gameplay loop.

Revised user interface

The developers are working on a more modern, user-friendly UI design(see this youtube video) to replace the current retro look. This new design should not only be visually appealing, but also solve performance issues.

People and world building

While major innovations in human gameplay are unlikely, the developers are still working on so-called "Humwan Structures" such as new buildings and dinosaur enclosures. These could appear in future updates and expand the game universe.

Conclusion

2025 will be an exciting year for "The Isle". With new dinosaurs, revised systems and improved AI elements, the game promises to further deepen the survival experience. Fans can look forward to seeing what else the developers have in store.
