Quick Facts & Infos

  • Pounce on larger targets:

    • Causes bleeding and damage.
  • Pounce on smaller targets:

    • Pins the target to the ground.
  • Pounce restrictions:

    • Omniraptors can no longer pounce on targets that are currently performing a jump attack (lung).
    • The pounce consumes a lot of stamina. If the stamina runs out, you fall and are stunned for a short time.
    • Omniraptors can be knocked off their target by running past objects.
  • Pack hunter:

    • Effective as a team. Pounces should be performed in coordination with other Omniraptors.
  • Jumping ability:

    • Omniraptors can jump very high, allowing them to hide from larger dinosaurs on rocks and structures.
  • Pounce flexibility:

    • Can pounce on any side of a dinosaur, including the back.
    • New Pounce slots available!

Basic information

The epitome of cunning and ferocity, able to maneuver quickly at high speed and pounce on unsuspecting victims, the Utahraptor has certainly earned its fearsome reputation. Although all Utahraptors are inherently dangerous, the ones you don't see are really smart.

Utahraptor - General Information & Playstyle

The Utahraptor is the "Glasscannon" in Evrima. Its special attack is a pounce attack with which it can cling to its genger for several seconds. This causes very high damage and causes the opponent to bleed profusely. However, this attack is also very stamina-intensive, which is why you should always time it well. Smaller opponents can even be "pinned" to the ground with a Pounce (RMB and hold) and mauled with bites. The Utahraptor's ALT attack (ALT + LMB) can also be very useful against agile opponents, but is used far too rarely by most players.
The Utahraptor is particularly maneuverable and agile. It has a smaller running radius than its opponent - the Carnotaurus. This gives it a tactical advantage over larger carnivores that experienced players always know how to exploit in battle. As with all dinosaurs, stamina management is extremely important for the Utahraptor. The Utahraptor only develops its full potential in a pack, together with several other raptors. A well-coordinated Utahraptor pack can defeat almost any opponent.

Strengths & weaknesses

+ very fast & agile
+ Can jump relatively far
+ jumping attack (Pounce)
+ very strong in a pack
+ lots of stamina

- usually inferior in 1on1 with other dinosaurs of the same size

Survival as a Utahraptor

As a newly spawned Utahraptor cub (Juvie), you should look for other Utahraptors as soon as possible and join their pack. It has become widely established in the game that adult Utahraptors take care of the smaller ones and help them find food. A Utah pack can also use a Utah hatchling as bait to lure Carnos or other carnivores into a trap.
It is especially important to learn to assess the situation correctly. There is no shame in fleeing from a fight or retreating to ensure survival.
As a Utahraptor, you should only fight when you are hungry and exercise restraint when your stomach is full.
Many beginners make the mistake of constantly sprinting instead of walking and saving stamina. It is fatal for a Utah to accidentally run into a group of Pachys or a Carnotaurus with half stamina. Therefore, as a Utah, you should always get your stamina up to 100% before the fight and only then throw yourself into the fray.
It is also important to jump off a pounce in good time so that you still have enough stamina left to run after the injured opponent or to be able to retreat from the fight. A fight should never be opened with a pounce. It is better to bite the opponent 2-3 times first and only then use the jump attack. In the vast majority of cases, the opponent will then run away and bleed out.

TIP: Let your opponent bleed out:

Patience is a virtue. Bad Utahraptor players are impatient. It is often safer and cleverer to injure an opponent and cause him to bleed than to defeat him in a direct duel. If the opponent is injured and bleeding, it is often enough to chase him (stamina!) and prevent him from resting. This will stop the bleeding and the opponent will bleed out and die after a certain amount of time.
